F:X Pro Center GND8 rectangular filter - Graduated gray filter 100 mm

Our Rollei F:X Pro Center GND 8 (3 stops/0.9) is a so-called Graduated Gray Filter or Graduated neutral density filter , which has a gradient tint. With gradient filters, the coating usually runs out to a certain side, which is not the case with Center GND. Because the word center means that thee Intensity of the tinting (coating) decreases from the center of the filter in both directions of the outer sides and does not end with a hard cut in the middle like the Hard GND.

Graduated gray filters (GNDs) are used for motifs in which the brightness conditions have a certain progression and therefore require different exposures. The classic place of use for the center GND is therefore a sunrise or sunset , where the Sun in the middle of the picture can be seen and the brightness decreases in all directions. The center GND balances out this scenario perfectly because it only darkens the brightest part of the image, but the image areas above and below the horizon line are not affected. In this way, magical image compositions become possible..

Our Center GND 8 is available in this size 100 x 100 millimeters (100 mm square filter system) .It has a density of 0.9 and 3 stops in the middle, darkened area. A stop means that the amount of light falling on the sensor is reduced by one f-stop at a time.
